Good a place as any to ask this question.

I always search my thousands of movies before I download a new offering.

I have a Douglas Fairbanks silent movie from 1916 called Flirting with Fate.

This one with Joe E Brown is an entirely different story line, not a remake.

Is there no restriction on using movie titles?

Can we make a movie about some present day actresses and call it Star Wars?

I knew about the 1916 film. That's why I added "1938" to my AI page identifier to eliminate any confusion. I don't know the answer to your question, but as you know, the copyright laws in the first half of the 20th century were very different from what they are today. Back then there was a lot of title duplication. For example there are two "The Bat," etc..
